As a film and TV actress she’s been featured on national commercials and shows like HGTV, Evine Live Shopping Network, as the Pageant Coach on the Emmy Winning TV Series, MTV’s "MADE", performing Improv Comedy in Minnesota, and many more.  Tiffany is a former Miss Minnesota who competed at Miss America and stays involved in pageantry as an Interview, Stage, and Social Cause coach and judge. Tiffany's background is in Organizational Psychology.  She has been coaching Media, On-Camera Performance, Entertainment Business, Etiquette, and Pageant Coaching for 18 years.  Her love of all things personality and performance have led her to further study Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), and Digital Marketing and e-Commerce.  As a speaker and coach, she has traveled to hundreds of corporations, worked with CEO's and nonprofits across the Midwest, and loves to share stories from her own keynote and experiences which contrast her "past life" in corporate IT recruiting with the entertainment business.  She firmly believes YOU TOO can have work you love by knowing your purpose and having your own personal brand!

She enjoys painting, ping pong, collecting Hamm's Beer Memorabilia, and is an animal and antiques lover.

Learn how to take a wildly different approach, by incorporating strategies used in the for-profit world, to engage employees, reignite enthusiasm, and build trust with your families and community. In this interactive and engaging session, participants will reimagine how to integrate powerful graphics, videography, and copy that slices through the static and appeals to racially and culturally diverse audiences. Incorporate digital, traditional, and live media with a sustainable production schedule for a team of any size and any budget.

After attending Akwi’s session at NSPRA 2023, NSPRA president Cathy Kedjidjian said, “So many great sessions, but ‘Bold Storytelling That Disrupts Tradition to Engage, Empower Inspire’ with Akwi Nji had everyone talking and energized.”

Of Akwi’s approaches, one community member has said, “As someone who spent 17 years in education and as a mother of 3 – I have never seen public school messaging like this in the state. Incredible!”

Akwi delivers valuable insights and actionable takeaways. Attendees will leave inspired, informed, and empowered to implement practical steps to achieve their marketing and communications goals, improve the academic experience for students, and increase family and staff engagement.

Akwi Nji is a communication strategist and creative communications administrator whose experience includes working as Communications Director in the second largest school district in Iowa. She most recently served as Director of School and Community Relations and Communications at Waterloo Community School District. Her professional background is in education, arts administration, journalism, public relations and marketing. She specializes in integrating video, audio, graphic design, and written content to develop creative campaigns which engage, inform, and inspire trust.

As a communications director for PK-12 education, she was the first in her region to launch a district podcast, Superintendent’s blog, and a monthly TEDTalk-style series for educators. As founder of Powerful Over Pretty, a niche marketing solutions agency specializing in powerful storytelling to boost brands, she designs and implements innovative year-long marketing campaigns – primarily for K12 districts – through live, digital, and traditional communications that represent and engage diverse populations. Akwi harnesses the power of social media to advance districts’ stories and increase engagement. In one district, social media followers increased by 800% in six months. Because she is also a professional artist, she brings to the school public relations profession a fresh and unique multidisciplinary approach to utilizing the power of communications to ignite empathy and trust in audiences.
